About the USAF F-16 Viper Demonstration Team
Introducing the USAF F-16 Viper Demonstration Team, stationed at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. This dynamic single-ship demonstration showcases the professionalism instilled in Air Force pilots and highlights the exceptional capabilities of the F-16C Fighting Falcon, leaving air show fans across the nation in awe.
About the F-16C
The F-16 is celebrating America 250 this year by continuing to feature it’s red, white and blue paint scheme! Taking its inaugural flight in 1974, this remarkably versatile multi-role fighter quickly solidified its place in the USAF’s aircraft inventory. Renowned for its high maneuverability, the F-16C has proven its mettle in both air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack missions.
Currently, the F-16C is operated by four elite USAF units. The 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., has three squadrons, while the 169th Fighter Wing at Joint National Guard Base McEntire, S.C., commands one squadron. Additionally, the 52nd Fighter Wing at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, commands one squadron, while the 35th Fighter Wing at Misawa AB, Japan has two squadrons.
