Grumman TBM Avengers

The Grumman TBM Avengers (affectionately known as “Turkeys”) entered combat service in the latter part of WWII, as a variant of the Grumman TBF Torpedo Bomber. The Avenger was an incredibly effective aircraft in attacking submarines during the war, and would continue on in military service into the 1960s.

Thunder Over Michigan is thrilled to have a large gathering of “Turkeys” descending upon Willow Run Airport for our 2025 show.
